Once you enter the gates of Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort you are instantly transported from Central Florida to the American Southwest & Northern Mexico!
As you wander around the grounds of this resort, you will escape to one of three different areas: Casitas, Ranchos and Cabanas. Casitas represents Spanish architecture found in southwestern cities. Ranchos represents ranch houses found in the middle of the dessert. Cabanas represent the tropical beach side.
2. The Addition of Gran Destino Tower
In 2019 Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort unveiled its newest gem, the Gran Destino Tower, and it’s nothing short of spectacular. Along with its sleek design that adds to the resort’s skyline, the Tower becomes even more vibrant at night thanks to its dramatic lighting.
Gran Destino Tower is home to 545 guest rooms which include: 50 suites and club level rooms to suit every guest’s preference.
3. Variety of Dining Options
Disney’s Coronado Springs boasts an array of dining options that often go unnoticed. The resort has something for everyone, even picky eaters with TEN different dining options! Yes, I said TEN!
If you are looking for a drink & tapas head to one of the THREE lounges. The Barcelona Lounge serves coffee in the A.M. & cocktails in the P.M. Take an elevator ride up to the 15th floor of the Gran Destino Tower to The Daila Lounge for not only amazing drinks but delicious churros & stunning views.
The Three Bridges Bar & Lounge is an open air bar… in the middle of you guessed it three bridges!
If you are looking for an elevated dining experience, grab dinner at Toledo for steak, tapas & seafood! If you are feeling casual, Coronado Springs Resort of course has your classic sports bar, Rix Sports Bar & Grill.
HINT: At Rix Sports Bar & Grill is where you can find chicken stuffed waffles!
HINT: Three Bridges Bar & lounge is where you can find the Sangria Tower! TIP: If you time it right you can view the Epcot fireworks from Three Bridges Bar & Lounge.
4. The Lost City of Cibola Pool!
This jaw dropping pool is themed to model the Mayan Ruins with a 50-foot tall pyramid as the center piece. This pool includes a perfect blend for both those that are looking to relax after a day at the parks or thrill seekers willing to brave the 123 foot water slide! Disney’s Coronado Springs resort pool is perfect for the whole family to enjoy.
5. Being In The Center Of The Magic… Literally!
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is literally in the center of ALL the magic- 1.8 miles from Animal Kingdom, 2.5 miles from Epcot, 3.6 miles from Hollywood Studios and 2.7 miles from Magic Kingdom! Although, this resort only offers bus transportation, this is never a downside when being this centrally located between all four parks.
6. Views For MILES
Bay Lake Tower and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror are not the only towers in Disney World that have views for miles. Coronado Springs Gran Destino Tower has jaw dropping views from Expedition Everest in Disney’s Animal Kingdom to Hollywood Studios Galaxy’s Edge and everything in between.
TIP: If you time it right you can watch the Epcot fireworks, Hollywood Studio fireworks, AND Magic Kingdom fireworks from the Dahila Lounge & Toledo.
7. A Resort Day Made For Your Creative Side
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort offers many different classes to keep you entertained on your days away from the parks. These classes are where you can let your creative side show without having to attend the Festival of the Arts! The Colors of Coronado Painting Experience is a 2-hour painting class taught by local artists. Immerse yourself in the Spanish culture by creating your very own Spanish Mosaic Art piece!
Alternatively, if you are not the best artist, you can attend Sangria University instead! This afternoon course held on Saturdays and Sundays, discusses the history of Sangria, including recipe lessons followed by a tasting of the four in-house varieties served at Three Bridges Bar and Grill.
